God’s Gracious Gift

In a day and time that everyone seems to be so connected, why is it that many seem to be so alone? I believe it has to do with that innate desire to know God. The Lord God knows you and He loves you. He wants you to receive His free gift of salvation and for you to spend eternity with Him in heaven.

It may be hard to admit, but we all have sinned. God tells us in His word, the Bible … “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Rom 3:23). That word “all” means me, I have sinned, and it also means you, you too have sinned. Now you may be thinking, “well I never killed anyone, or I never robbed a bank,” and after looking at what is going on is this crazy mixed up world of ours, you might even think, “I’m pretty good.” But by whose standards? You see you may indeed look pretty good by your standards or even man’s. But have you ever told a lie? Even one of those little harmless lies, we call “a little white lie?” If you have, then based on God’s perfect standards, you would be liar. Have you ever taken something that wasn’t yours? Even something as insignificant as a paper clip or pencil? By definition anything that is not yours is stealing, and by God’s perfect standard that would make you or I a thief. God’s standard’s are so high, that Jesus said“… That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matt 5:28). I trust that you are beginning to seen that no one, you, nor I can be good enough to pass God’s perfect standard. That is what the Law, the Ten Commandments were meant to do, to show us that we fall short, that we come short of the glory of God. And because we fall short of His holy standards, we will spend eternity separated from God.

BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS! God loves us so much that He provided a way for you and I to go to heaven. The Bible says, “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8). You see, since we are unable to save ourselves, since we are unable to be good enough to enter heaven by God’s holy standards, God sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to take our sin and God’s punishment for our sin. When Jesus died upon the cross, He did so for you, personally. Just as He did for me personally. He became our substitute, He died so that you and I could live, and live forever with Him in heaven. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosover believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

You and I are mentioned there, oh not by name, but by that word “whosoever” that word means anyone, regardless of our background, our past, our age. Regardless of what we ever have done, this gift of salvation is freely available to everyone, even you.

RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR – To receive God’s free gift of salvation, simply believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Rom 10:9). Will you receive Jesus as your Savior today?

Pray something like this“Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I ask you to please forgive me of my sins, and be my Savior. I believe that Jesus died for me, in my place, and that He rose again on the 3rd day according to the Scriptures, I ask you to save me. In Jesus’ name – Amen.”
