What We Believe

Our foundation is the Lord Jesus Christ

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11

We Follow the Scriptures as our rule for faith and practice:

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

We believe that the Bible is God’s revelation to man. It is the basis of our faith and the means of our spiritual growth.

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Time 3:16-17

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

Community Baptist Church holds to the Baptist Distinctives:

B – Biblical Authority for faith and practice – We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the original manuscripts of the Old and New Testaments, and that God has preserved His word in such a way that what we have today in the Hebrew Masoretic texts and the Textus Receptus are indeed the very words of God preserved! 2 Tim 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21

A – The Autonomy of the local church. We believe that the local church is self-governed, self-supporting, and self-propagating – Acts 6:1-7

P – The Priesthood of the believer – We believe that all born again believers are invited to come boldly to the Lord God – Heb 10:19. We need no earthly priest because the Lord Jesus Christ is our High Priest, Who is seated at God’s right hand – 1 Peter 2:9.

T – Two Ordinances given to the local church:

1- Baptism by immersion Matt 28:18-20; Rom 6:3-5; Acts 8:38

2 – Communion – 1 Cor 11:23-34

I – Individual Soul Liberty – we believe that every person has the freedom of religion, they are given the right to believe what he or she chooses to believe, even if it is contrary to Scripture. Though they will be held responsible one day. Rom 4:5; Rom 14:12
